WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.
(Prov. 20:5)

If you ask any pastor what his toughest challenges are, I guarantee a struggle with busyness would be near the top of his list. Busyness can be great if it produces fruit, but busyness with the wrong things can lead to burnout. Steve Feild has helped me be more productive and has increased my joy by helping me celebrate when I’m busy with the right things. He does this well because he’s a great listener, and he not only helps me set goals, but he also helps me check my motives. My ability to disciple others has increased tremendously because of Steve!

I am a man with “many plates spinning in the air.” I pastor a Hispanic church and teach and equip leaders in a number of countries throughout the world.  In addition, I have family concerns which demand considerable energy.  Stephen has helped me to get focus by asking timely questions and encouraging me to think out loud about my life with Christ and my ministry.  Spending time together with Stephen has renewed my passion as a disciple of Jesus Christ and my passion to encourage others to follow Him as His disciple.

My wife and I are planting Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva in Davidsonville, MD.  I started serving God immediately after I surrendered my life to the Lord, 30 ago in Houston, where we planted Iglesia Bautista Del Redentor. That church has planted three other churches, which in turn have planted many others. From 2005 through 2014 my wife and I served as missionaries in the Middle East.  From the beginning of my ministry, I learned the value of an accountability partner. However, throughout my years in ministry, finding the person to whom you would bare your soul, has been an insurmountable task.

My present coach is Stephen Feild. I consider him an answer to my prayers. Before returning to the USA and knowing that I would continue serving God as a church planter I ask God to provide a godly man to whom I could be accountable.  Stephen knows the coaching role very well. He knows the right questions to ask to help me navigate the challenges of my ministry and to stimulate my thinking to determine the steps I need to take address those challenges.

Stephen is a Godsend coach. I wholeheartedly recommend him as a coach.

If discipleship is explained as one maturing spiritually and becoming more like Jesus, Stephen’s coaching helped me in a very specific way.  What started as something ‘external’ (me getting in better shape) branched into something much deeper and internal – how my desire for immediate perfection was harming my well-being and hindering change occurring in my life.  Stephen helped ferret this out through questions and insights, and we were able to address it and talk through the importance of recognizing one’s limits and of the need for patience in process of change.

Humbled a bit, I now have a clearer understanding of what the spiritual maturing process looks like, both within the context of my own limits and how it will occur slowly over time and not rushed.  I am in much appreciation for Stephen in guiding me along this realization and am in a much more comfortable frame of mind now.  It’s exciting to think how he will be able to impact others in a similar vein.

Steve always helped me to be aware of the fact that real, long-term spiritual progress is a result of deliberate daily actions in my life. Through Steve’s coaching, I was able to develop a meaningful strategy that I still implement, daily.
